i've done some research on the different types of paint available. i like the option of using a brush, as i am much more proficient w/ that than an aerosol spray. the two types that this leaves me w/ is either folia tec laquer or the seemingly more prominent G2 caliper paint. my questions: is has anyone used either of these products AND who sells them the cheapest? TIA

I used the G2 system and loved it. One track event and about 6 months of driving later and they are still shiny with no signs of wear. I called G2 directly, I got the number from the article on sentra.net(I'm sure you know what I'm talking about) I am very picky about what I use on my car, and from what I've seen so are you, and I would definetly recommend the G2. I'll post some picks of my calipers tonight so you can see them. Hope this helps.

I just use regular old engine enamel. 500 degree.
I never did see a difference in the more expensive stuff.
I prefer spray paint over brush-on.

i used brush on black hammerite from homedepot ($12) some months ago on my nx calipers. they have been holding very well and looks good, but its just a daily driver. i doubt i heat them up too much.

i love hammerite. i painted the frame and calipers of a 1100cc motorcycle with it 4 years ago, right on top of rust, and it has not flawed yet.

High end caliper paint is $48 at eastwoodco.com. i doubt that is the cheapest you can find, but its there.

yeah, i originally bought a spray enamel. but the thought of over-spray scares me. the G2 is good up to 922 deg.

G2 is great. If I knew better I would have taken the calipers apart and done the entire caliper in G2. Now if I want to do the calipers over I gotta get them sand blasted or something cause G2 doesn't come off. Well worth the money. You will not use more than the kit encloses unless you are heavyhanded. Take my advice, use the g2 and do the entire caliper, not just the outsides. I wish I did it that way.

99 cent Walmart paint, Bright Silver, holds great, no complains. But if you want to spend $5+ for "caliper" paint, go for it :)

Here are the pics of my calipers Stilleto. These pictures were taken when I first installed the calipers but I assure you that they still look exactly the same.

How do painted calipers hold up to brake fluid and brake cleaner? I would hate to get them all painted and then have it all come off when a little brake fluid or cleaner gets on the calipers.

Goods point ak555 on the brake cleaner and brake fluid.

the g2 and folia tec are designed to resist those and others natural effects of being on brakes.
