hello all,

I need help tightening my belts. When my car sits for a while it makes a squeaking noise when I turn it on. Not a long one like a squeel then stop but a continual squeak, squeak, squeak. Then when I drive it it eventually goes away. Also, when I turn on the air conditioner you hear it real bad. How do I tighten the belts and where are they located. I can see one belt on the passenger side, I am assuming that is the alternator belt.. Please help..l thank you

the belt that is on the alternator is the same on that is on the a/c. 1. did u replace the belt. 2 there is a bolt the holds up the alternator on a bracket, that bolt must the pushed all the way to the top of the bracket, and then tightened

no, i din't replace the belt but the car sat for about 6 months while dealing with a tranny problem..

where do I locate the bolt and will I be able to tighten it myself? tool to use?

it is the bolt that holds your alterantor in place, if u look at your alt u will see the bolt that holds it up
