Hey guys I've got a question about an exhaust system. I've heard that I can get more power just doing a rear-section exhaust vs. a cat-back. Is this true? If so why. Personally I would think that a cat-back would get me more power. Has anyone experimented with this?

I had the Topspeed 2.5" catback exhaust that you can get from Courtesy and it made some really nice #s on the dyno and at the track. I would definitely recommend it over just a muffler section.
The stock exhaust piping is pretty thin, i have a picture comparing stock 2 Topspeed, i'll upload it real quick then post the link to it in a minute.

definitely replace the cat-back... just a muffler won;t realy do anything except sound... the stock piping is only 1 1/2" and you need to let the engine breathe.....

That makes a lot of sense. Only reason I even questioned it is the boys over at Stillen swore that the rear-section would get me more power. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Thanks guys!

don't ask stillen or any other manufacturer about performance... they just look at easy money... get advice from the guys here... anything you could want to do to your car, someone here has already...

Ballistic is right, I have the GA16DE (1.6L). I won't have an SE-R for a while yet, b/c I'm just going to buy the actualy SE-R instead of converting my SE. Don't worry, I'm getting all my performance questions answered here, so I'm just gonna be asking for prices from the manu's now.

BTW, my suspension is going out in the rear. Any one have any suggestions as to what I should use? I was thinking about going with Eibach's Pro-Kit which will lower my my car 1.4".

the pro kit is nice.
unless you like super low bounciness. then get the sportlines.:D
both springs are nice. be sure to get new shocks.

So the sportlines would ride more comfortably on the street... I think that is what I will go with. I'm not going to hot rod this car out all that much. That is what my upcoming SE-R will be for. Though I do wanna have some fun in this car...

no, the PROKITS ride better because u get more suspension travel. The sportlines lower too much and r real bumpy/bouncey

I have the prokit/agx combo on my car if u wanna go for a ride and see how it feels lemme know.
