What did your spring maker say about the RPM limits of those springs?

Fcams claims 9600rpm limit until you hit valve float, dunno what kelford claims
Let the conversations begin

On what cam?

Sorry this is somewhat off topic but I couldn't help myself... after all the years of comparing the cool stuff you guys have had in the US - JWT, Stillen, Hotshot etc etc and not being able to get shit for our motors... there is a thread with two homegrown manufacturers. I find that very amusing :D
Right back on topic

I was hoping this thread would start a discussion on the theory behind the different valve springs from the different cam manufacturers. I see that most people care more about jerking off to valve covers than the parts that actually support high hp/high revving motor

Chris,

It takes a great deal of research to even know enough about what springs will work will with what cams to have a intelligent conversation about the subject. Like you said, only a small number of people have even bothered to get custom grinds. Most people just don't have a clue because its not needed for them. Until people like you go thru the process post the results and options people simply will remain uninformed for the most part.

sounds promising, but I'm wondering how well off we really are.

Fcams has yet to amaze me either. I'm not sure if they have a lack of customers or if their customers just like hiding away their dyno results. The only dyno results I've seen are disappointing graphs paired with disappointing excuses. "Yea, my stage 4s only made 180whp, but I'm only running a 1" exhaust and stock header" "Oh yea, I lost some power with my stage 3s, but that's only because we dynoed it at the top of Mount Everest...At sea level, you should get about 220"

Stop been a sheep and waiting around for someone to do something. Go out and make something happen. Following the heard is cool but sometimes its better to strike out on your own and try new things.

Well I should have a custom cam gring on the way. It will make peak HP at 8600 RPMs and about 15 more WHP over the N1 cam on a 2L. How do I know they have been tested already,

On the 2.3L SR20VE the cams peak HP should be at 7900-8100 RPMs and it should make about 17WHP more than the N1.

Did you get new Billets? or just regrinded some SR16VE cams?
