OK, as may may know I am considering purchasing a new turbocharger after being advised that this would be the best route to go down if I want more power (which I do...LOL).

I currently have a GT2860RS(disco potato) with the 0.64 AR housing for quicker spool, but looking at my results from last week, it appears that I may have reached the limit on this turbo.

361 HP @ 14 psi
374.5 HP @ 20 psi

The issue I have is clearance, since I am limited for space between the engine & radiator.

I believe that the GT2871R is identical in size to the DP externally...is this true?

If it is true, what is the maximum HP (wheel) that I could pull from this turbo while still retaining the same diamensions as the DP?

P.S. I will be purchasing a 7 psi actuator to help with the traction issues in the lower gears.

the gt28rs and the 2871r are pretty much the same size. the 2871r should be good to 380-400whp. you could also go to a external gate setup and get another 30whp out of the same turbo.

Like mentioned, you might want to go to a new manifold with external wastegate setup. Also, going down to the 7 psi wastegate actuator (if you keep the internal) may limit the max amount of boost you can run which may be lower than what you want.

you could also go with a full-race manifold. this one keeps everything in same place they would be on a gtir manifold. so you would not need to change anything. a divorced dp would work great as well.

Just put a external with a gt3071r 0.86... full boost 1 bat at 4100 rpm just like the t28 turbo... and a lot more top end...I JUST DYNOED ..333 whp(370 hp aprox)at 14 lbs( no cams).. I will put the dynosheet as soon as a I recive the file...
