I have been doing alot of reading up on this project and I think I am going to dive into it this fall. I would just like to get your opnions on what you would do if you were in my shoes. Here is the deal. I will have $10,000 to spend. That will include getting the car and everything. I would like to know what you you do with that amount of money. I have a few must haves. Most of which are in prep. for a larger turbo sometime down the line. I need a FMIC. I also need a boost controler and some good gauges. I want to do everything right the first time. I also need a fairly good suspension as I will be using the car for autoX, track events and the occasional drag race. I will sacrafice a little on the looks of the car to make this happen. I dont really care much about looks anyway. Plus it will be a great sleeper. I am going to be looking for a coupe for sure. I just like that body better.

im doing the same thing im going to get a 240sx coupe 89-94 the cheapest one i can find looking for a blown motor or tranny. then take it to http://www.heavythrottle.com/ to do the swap or get a front clip at http://www.venus-auto.com/ and do the swap myself and get the apex n1 springs sshocks or tein springs and shocks boost control from blitz plus turbo timer for about (500-600) if you look around. that should bring you around 8,000-10,000 good luck!!

it should be alot cheaper than that. Our sil-80 was originally bought for $600. All together we've spent around $10,000 includin gour Bomex body kit and the turbo upgrade.

did you check out http://www.heavythrottle.com/ they just do more than the swap. i would do it myself but i lack the space to do the swap. look into the (sr faq) page and look into the (install info) link do you think it is to much for what they want to do. thanks for your reply.

Yes I have looked at them and that is where I plan on getting the motor from. I will be doing it myself to save money though. If I can do it cheep enough I plan on doing a turbo upgrade imidetly.

Heavythrottle is over priced, they dont import the engines themselves (venus auto does), so youll pay middle man charges.

SO WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST? i know there overprice but i do not have the facilties to do the swap. i live in a apartment and i live in new york and unstable hybrids charge just as much. any other places you guys know about? or should i buy a front clip from venus auto and have it shipped to heavy throttle so they can do the swap? so all they doing is installing the motor into the car. you think they go for that?
