My brakes are spongy on the first pump, and then they get solid on the second. Me and chris (nismoser) bled the brake lines on the two front brakes because those are the ones we changed. WE bled them repeatedly, yes the brakes still feel quite spongy, too spongy to really stop the car without a huge distance on the first pump. If anyone can offer suggestions, i would apprecaite it. We will probably just end up bleeding the whole system and changing the fluid. Thanks in advance....

You HAVE to bleed it all.

Just bleeding one part doesnt do anything. It just lets air travel around in the system.

Bleed all 4 corners, from the the rear to the front, according to your FSM.

What brake fluid did you use?
And how long did it you?
I need to hit mine up.

You shouldn't have that problem - I installed the MM's, didn't bleed the brakes and they were fine. Verify you installed them properly (although it sounds silly it's quite easy to get one of the pads backwards or upside down)

Did you also remember to remove the brake fluid cap in the engine bay when you had to compress the piston?

Ok, no, i did not remove the cap on the resovoir when compressing the piston, im guessing this could be a problem...and yes the pads are on right, but when lossening the banjo bolts on the caliper, i loosened the bleeder valve accidentally. WE then proceeded to bleed just the two front brakes, but its still very spongy with the brakes not engaging until 3/4 of the way to the floor on the first depression of the pedal. Does putting the emergency brake down help with the air bleeding?? What can i do now to correct this problem?? Its not safe to drive around having to double pump ur brakes everytime u want to stop.

Try bleeding all four corners instead of just the fronts. Get *all* air bubbles out. Also, have you bedded in your pads? If not you should do that. It made a big difference when I got my Metal Masters, and later, the Ultimates.

Speaking of bleeding brakes, one nifty gadget that I use (as well as many of my friends) are speed bleeders (http://www.russellperformance.com/automotive/automotive_speed_bleeders.htm). They seem to work pretty well for me.
