I heard there will be some type of points system for qualifying for the big race sunday at nationals. I see there is 2 days of qual sessions and qual races. How is this going to work?

You qualify for qualifying races the same way as normal. That determines the grid. Then you get points just like during the season during the qualifying races. Points are added together. The points are then used to determine starting order for the final race.

Ok one more question. Would these points be in overall finishing postion for the group or position in class. Cause lets say you finish 1st in class and 5th overall in both races with the 2nd place car finishing 10 th overall will that put the cars in the perspective finishing postion overall or will the classes be grid together?

Should be in class. So if you finish second in Q1 race and first in Q2 race you have 190 points which determines where you start in class for the real race. Ties are broken by fastest lap time.

That would be kind of strange. Like I said if you finish ahead of other cars in other classes you should be starting in front of them. If not you would be starting behind slower cars.

Nothing new there. I think NASA starts SM before SR always in regionals here in SoCal.
