My setup is:
B13 SE-R
SR20DE (USDM) 9.5:1CR
GTi-R Manifold
GTi-R T28
GTi-R ECU
12psi boost
370cc injectors @ 4bar (=428cc injectors)
Z32 MAF
(and all the other mods, like walbro 255, johnny racecar fmic, suspension, etc. etc. )

I'm hitting 11.5psi consistently, with my afr's still in the low 11's, and my injectors leaned out by 15%! I have so much maf left to work with it's silly, and I can't maintain traction to save the world! (It doesn't help that it's been rainy!)

There's so much fuel and maf to work with at this level, I don't see why I can't turn the boost up to 14 or so. My EGT's are peaking out in the 780*C range, which is more than safe, and I haven't even come close to anything dangerous AFR-wise, which makes me think that I can either give it more boost or get the current afr's up to about 11 and try advancing my timing to 16* or so. The GTi-R motor has base timing of 20*, how dangerous would it be for me to advance my timing a little? Anyone know why it's running so rich? Thoughts?

53 looks and no responses? Somebody's gotta have some thoughts here! Anyone running a DE with timing advanced past 15 degrees?

i had a de and ran 17 before on race gas but i wouldnt go more than 15 on pump

What ecu did you have? Doesn't the timing advance that you can run depend on what your ECU wants to see?

We are all looking for pics! :D

You are running 370cc injectors on a GTI-R ecu. That could be your problem. I know your compensating for the cc’s but the GTI-R injectors are high or low (?) impedance. The ecu probably can’t operate them correctly.

Then again I could be totally wrong.

It seems like you are checking all the right things here. I assume you tested the a/f with a true wideband. Sniffers are good too, just somewhat delayed responses compared to rpms. Where are you reading the EGT - pre or post turbo? Closer to the head is best and - I know for bluebird manifolds (doesnt apply to you) - bank 3 seems to run the hottest.

In my 9+ years of working on DETs - I dunno anyone whose run a gtir ecu with 370cc's. But i guess its working. How is your idle?

If you decide to up the boost, I would drop the timing. To be safe. Things happen in a hurry.

Yeah, I'm using a zeitronix zt-2 wideband, with the egt probe on runner #4 of the turbo manifold, about 2" from the head. So far the Idle's good. Tomorrow night we're going to drop the boost down to like 7, and increase my timing up to 17*, and work up gradually from there. As far as my knowledge goes, as long as I keep my afr's and egt's within safe ranges, I can't go wrong, right? Or is there something I'm missing, some reason advancing the timing would bomb out my motor?

As for the injectors, I'm at 4bar fuel pressure, and the 370cc injectors are already the right impedance for the ECU... What you're thinking of is that the GTi-R injectors are low impedance, so if you want to run them with any other ECU, you have to run inline resistors to get the right impedance. There's nothing to do with the 370's. I don't think that's an issue. I really think the timing is the key here.

Thanks for the responses! I'll put up some pics tonight or tomorrow... The only change I made includes the AFPR/gauge, z32 maf, and turning up the boost some! I'm about to get a new bov and go blow thru too, that should be fun!
