Test the voltage with a Voltage meter. make sure it's cranking out the propper amount with the car on!

Ok w/ the car running and no accesories goin, you should see ~14volts, turn on everything, lights wipers, fans etc. You should not drop below ~12.
Kinda stupid thing is, when that idiot light on the dash shows a bad battery grafik, 90% of the time it's the Alternator. Also the classic is known for other id lights commin on. Ask me how i know. =P
