I know this has been a topic recently on the boards, but bare with me:
I have 205/45/R16's on my car right now but I want to improve traction. I know I could easily go 215/40/16 , but what about 225/40/16??
Thanks guys.

225s might make you rub against stuff. I have 205/45/16 kumhos on my car Im thinking getting the nitto NT-450 3 dollars more than the kumhos

225s will rub. the 215s would work well though, but you might need to roll the inner fender.

Don't go with the 450's. get som Falken Azenis. the 450's suck from every magazine and person i know who has had them.

I agree with the above about the nitto 450's. From everybody I've heard from, they aren't really any good.
As for the tire width issue. If you have a classic or nx2000, the 225/40/16's will rub. If you have a 200sx or other b14, you can easily run a 225/40/16 or a 225/45/16. ***As long as you have the correct offset wheel!!*** :)
I myself just ordered the azenis 215/45/16. I was running yokohama A520's, 225/40/16
Hope this helps.

I also used to run 215/45-16 Yokohomas and they never rubbed and they handled great.

Check out www.TireRack.com. Usually good prices and they even have customer ratings on dry and wet traction.

I had 215/45 nitto 450's on a 1.75" dropped NX and i never rubbed.. i believe they did protrude the side of the fender just a bit.. but i am currently gonna run 205/45 yoko parada's on the same application we'll see how it goes..
