I will be installing mine this weekend, and I just want to confirm that I need to ground down both front and rear struts to fit the GC collar on...
Also, how many of you have used the duct tape method? Any squeaks or rattles?
thanks!

I'm almost certain you will have to grind both down. I used a bench grinder on mine. I wrapped the point where the shaft goes into the strut to keep stuff out of there. Also, there is a seal inside the strut where you need to grind. Make sure you don't get it too hot. Grind some, let it cool, grind somemore. I used the install procedure on the Nissan Performance Magazine site. I also used the duct tape method, and besides the springs making noise, the GCs are quiet.

I'm doing this same setup. It should be completed by the end of the week. My poor car is in sssoooo many pieces right now. I'm also replacing all of the bushings and man are there some bushings! Thanks to Steve (98sr20de) for his help, insight and above all use of his garage the whole installation is going pretty smoothly as a whole though. Had some rusted bolt issues and there is some serious labor involved in my setup, but all in all not too bad. I'll let you know how it goes when I get it finished.

I just completed this setup this past weekend. You will have to grind teh perch of the struts to get the collars to fit onto the strut body. Take your time when doing this and grind evenly then make sure to file the edges after.
I did use just duct tape and not toe RTV. I do have a lot of noise from the setup. I think I will have to take them out and apply the RTV this time to avoid and rattles. I find that the car makes a lot of its clunks and bangs on rough streets. In other cars I have not heard a peep so I wonder what I did wrong myself. I would say to follow the method on the link given as that shows it all. Make sure you keep the collar on tight and don't over tigher the allen-key on the spindle for the springs.
Also remember that on the collar that they are 1/8th of an inch in size or apart from each other. So that means for every 8 full turns is 1 inch. Try not to slam it too much to avoid bottoming out. While you're at it make sure to get the KONI bump stops from GC as they sell em to you cut for our cars already.
Good luck. Do post thoughts after install
