Which one will make the most horsepower using identical motors. I had a discussion with my friend and we came to the conclusion that fuel injection will. Are we right?

Honestly, I believe, with all other things equal, that a carburetor and a fuel injection system will make the same amount of power. That's if all things are equal; including flow rate, fuel pressure, etc. Fuel injection is nice because it is electronically controlled and fixed a lot of the problems associated with carburetors like flooding and that it takes a while for them to warm up and so on.

The difference comes in where the fuel and air is mixed. With a carburetor, the fuel is injected into the incoming air immediately and then mixed in the intake manifold. With the fuel injection, the air goes through the TB, into the intake manifold, and the fuel is proportionately injected at the last minute, just before the air enters the engine. I don't think that this small difference will result in a significant difference in horsepower. These two systems when functioning properly do pretty much the same thing.

Just my opinion. Let me know what you think.

I'd like to see someone run 40-60 psi thru a carb..??
