I've always liked the look of a B13 over a B14 but the B14 is starting to grow on me. I also have a feeling that when it comes time for me to buy an SE-R that a 200SX is going to be easier to come by than a Classic. (At least in my area) With plans to do a DET swap, brake and suspension upgrades, I am curious if there are differences between the two cars that I should know about before I decide. I apprecaite any input, thanks.

Get the 95-97 for the LSD. Or you can get a used tranny for about 550.

The B13 has independant rear suspension. For autocross and track schools, it's better than the B14.

Oddly, even though the B14 was slower in stock form, it responds to engine mods a little better than the B13.

I've been researching this myself, and it's gotten some talk on the mailing list. The deal is the low port has shorter runners. So, even with the slightly poorer flow and decreased cams, the engine puts out similar hp to the high-port. So, with bolt-ons many people experience better improvements on the low-port. Once cams are put in for an equal comparison, the low-port seems to put down around 5 more hp.

In addition, the b15 is actually 50 lbs lighter than the b13. Check it out for urself in the specs. Even though it doesn't have the independant suspension, I'm kinda wishing I had a b14 or at least 94 ser right now myself.:(

B13s are commonly weighed at 2460 lbs. You're telling me a B15 200SX weighs 2410???

OK, OK. B15 Sentra. They're still not 2400 lbs. Closer to 2600.

Nissan list the B15 Sentra SE (145hp) at 2670lbs. I have no idea what a 2002 SER weighs.

I have found them for that price at http://car-part.com/ You will also need the driver side axle.

I'm partial to the B13, but I'd take a 200SX SE-R. After a DET swap and suspension and brake mods, it's comparing apples and apples. Seats, wheels, and many engine parts interchange, of course.

Just pick the cleanest, best-maintained car for the money.

LOL, I did not try to start a war. I meant b14 weights less, not b15. Simple typo, the numbers are side by side:D

I know for a fact that b14's can weigh in at 2425. It's not speculation, just fact. I'm done. For some reason I kinda enjoy these debates. Something new always seems to come up.
