I'm trying to do my front brakes again on my 92 SE-R and i'm running into problems finding the correct brake pads. Just for kicks I asked the guy to show me the pads for a 1.6L, well they are the same pads that came off my car.
What's the deal?
Should they be the same? Did some previous owner replace the brakes with 1.6L ones?
Has anyone else ever ran into this issue?
THanks
Keith

If it helps at all, the FMSI number for the backingplate for 91-94 SE-R pads is #509. The NX2000 is #549.

I have a 1.6 that I just put SE-R brakes on it and the pads are definitely different. The 1.6L pads are a little shorter and not quite as wide as the SE-R brakes. The 2.0L calipers are a quite a bit different than the 1.6L ones.

If you want, I can take pics of my old 1.6L pads and my new SE-R pads tonight when I get home. Then I could email you the pics.

That would be great. I did find these pictures of the NX2000 and 1.6L brake comparision.

He's got a '92. The pads are not the same for that year.
