I took off the plastic on the passengers side floorboard and there is this silver box with a flashing light. It flashes 10 times then stops. Is this some kind of error code???

no..actually that is your car subliminally telling you to get 10 more HP. Where is this box.? and does it have a harness going into it..?

It "sounds" like the ecu.? but Im not sure what car you have..and not sure why it would flash 10 times straight. does it flash long and short.?

Its a silver box, not the ecu. Its on the other side of the passenger section just to the right and below the glove box. Its bolted to the frame of the car with a silver bracket. I have a 1992 classic se-r. It was right beneath a plastic piece. It flashes 10 times at about 1 second intervals and then stops for a few seconds and does it again. I havent had a chance to check where the wires from it lead to but its got a blue harness with about 10 wires going to it. I dont have a service manual or anything to find out what it is for sure. thanks for any info
