You need to use a hydraulic press. Go pay a shop $10 or $20 to do it for you.

Are you getting Prothane mounts?

Using a sawzall, cut the rubber out of the mount, then make a cut in the inner ring, being carefull not to damage the mount itself. Once the ring is cut, knock it out with a hammer and chisle.

Instead of a press, you can use a bench vise to press the new mounts in, just lube them up with WD40 or similar.

I have a feeling that if you search Prothane install, you'll get at least a few hits here on the forum.

do it for free by pressing it in with your car's front tire, lift one front tire on one side of the car, put motor mount retainer and polyurethane mount on top of retainer under the tire, then drop the car back down, allowing the weight of the car (through the tire) to press the mount in. it's worked everytime for me.

I did mine like Chris suggests, altho I sure like wc's idea :-).
You guys forgot to include the invention of at least several new swear words as a normal part of the process.

i got mine pressed out for like 40 bucks for all of them.. and used a bench press and some dawn dish soap.. and they poped right in.

Find a machine shop in your local yellow pages and call and ask them what it would cost to have them done.

if a shop tells you more then like $10 or so per mount, then tell them to go take a long walk off a short pier.
I just had to do my front mount today and it took like 15 minutes including removal and installation.( of course that was with a hydraulic press)

you should be able to do it with a bench vise yourself though without much trouble.

Go out spend the money for a bench vise and mount it on your table in the basement/garage. That way, you can press your mounts in and have a vise for any other needs!

Trying to press them in by screaming and yelling does not work. The bench vise does though
