What do you mean it's on it's way out?

The lower pan comes off with about 12 10mm bolts, the upper one has about 16 to 20 12mm bolts, plus 2 hidden ones behind the inspection cover on the tranny side of the pan. You must remove the lower pan first, since some of the upper pan bolts are on the inside behind the lower pan.

Once the bolts are out you can use something like a 5-in-1 painters tool to break the seal of the old sealant.

When reassembling, use Ultra Grey sealant, no gasket is required.

Unless you hit something like a big ass rock, and cracked them, your oil pans are fine, and just need to be resealed. List price from Nissan I'm sure is through the roof. Lower pans often get banged up, so if yours has any dents, pound them out with a hammer once you remove it.

I suggest you thouroughly clean everything up so you can see where it's really leaking from before you do anything.

Sending unit, or oil pickup? There's no reason to replace either.

If you have your heart set on replacing your pans, I have a few of each that I can sell you.
