I used to own a Place Racing CAI. I had it installed on my 93 LOWPORT GA16DE Sentra, stock exhaust manifold, & a 2" Greddy Catback. It used to make the sweetest growl. It was REALLY LOUD and I loved it.
Okay my other car has the SR20DE, HIGHPORT, I have a Hotshot gen 4 header, & the same Greddy 2" catback.
I installed my Hotshot CAI last night and it makes a different tone and is not even half as loud when you step on it. I really miss that big ole growl I used to get with the PR CAI. I need some opinions from you people. Do you think this has to do with HS's not being tuned to resonates as well as the Place Racing model?
I realize its a different motor, highport compared to a lowport and I also have a header so I expect there to be some difference but folks I just miss the bark of the old CAI.
As far as performance the car feels faster and it revs a lot easier. (I used to have the Stealin Pop installed) Plus the look of it is nicer than the PR unit.
This weekend comes the pulley install.
TIA,
