: Plugs for our car ...Good? Crap? brands
ser_lover 04-25-2002, 06:21 PM what kind of plugs does everyone use. I once used ngk plates or "R" and now I switched to denso plantiums the other day. I cant tell a differ.
Has anybody tryed the denso raniums. There like 20 bucks a plug but are suppost to get good hp gains. I was talking to a si owner and he was talking about a drag turbo civic with 400 hp. and said that they changed to the denso raniums and it gave the car 50 more hp.
BORNGEARHEAD 04-25-2002, 07:37 PM I run Denso iridium plugs. I found them for $12 a piece. I have had them for about a year and have had no problems. I like em. I will buy them again. But I hear people talk about the different temp. plugs for nos, turbo, etc. What are the heat ratings on Denso iridiums? Is there a heat range?
ser_lover 04-26-2002, 08:04 AM I am not for sure. Where did you find them for 12 bucks a peice. Did you feel any gain?
socalser1 04-26-2002, 05:23 PM just buy some beru plugs like me(96 200sx se-r with mods) and call it a day.:)
ser_lover 04-26-2002, 06:17 PM no :)
Crono1321 04-27-2002, 01:09 AM I have the Denso Iridium plugs in my se-r, and I noticed a big difference. I read on a site that the denso plugs alone give you around 5hp and 6torque or something close to that. Right after reading that I bought them! Oh yeah, you can find them on Ebay I bet...its where I got mine...just search for Denso Spark Plugs. There is usually a guy who just sells them and then you give him your car info and he sends you plugs. Thats how I did it. Was around 2 months ago.

ser_lover 04-27-2002, 11:53 PM Hello new plugs even though I just put some in. How much did you pay for them? Autozone said that in about a month that should be carrying them. Thanks Aaron
Crono1321 04-28-2002, 01:47 AM Mine were $50 for a set of four on Ebay. The Denso Iridium ones.
ser_lover 04-28-2002, 07:51 PM you remember that buyers name?
Crono1321 04-29-2002, 09:12 PM I'll check for you. Want me just to email him to see if I can get him to send you a set? I'll give you some advice if you do. Definitely get a money order and send it certified mail w/ return receipt. Thats what I do when I deal out of eBay contracts. I got burned once being "trusting" and so did my friend. But uh....just get back to me and I'll look around for his email address.
ser_lover 04-29-2002, 11:18 PM Yeah if you dont care. I have 9 good feedbacks. LOL. Big shit. yeah I dont trust alot of ppl on ebay so I just buy from seller who have like 2 hundred or more feedbacks.
Crono1321 04-29-2002, 11:27 PM HEY!!! I found you the guy's address. He is also posting an auction for the plugs that ends tomorrow. I would suggest "buying it now" lol because they are cheap...$49. The name is LTBMotorSport, and here is the auction:

Crono1321 04-29-2002, 11:28 PM Oh yeah! You do the same thing I did: buy it now, and then email him with all your car info... I.E.- 1996 Nissan 200sx SE-R is what I had to tell him. These plugs make a big difference I think.
ser_lover 04-30-2002, 04:59 PM i am going to take your guys advice and get some. Thanks for all the help bro. Aaron
DaGenesis 04-30-2002, 05:20 PM i think the stock platinum plugs u can get from courtesty nissan are the best
Crono1321 05-01-2002, 05:10 PM Everyone is entitled to their own opinion :)

Why do you say that? Have you tried the idruimus? Thanks aaron
Benito Malito 05-02-2002, 02:28 PM I doubt plugs give 5hp. I heard everywhere before this thread that stockers are the route until you go F/I or really built n/a.
I am not familiar with Denso's, though. Honestly I wish it did give 5hp. Most people I've seen have trouble with other plugs after a year or so ie spitfires, bosch.
Sorry to piss on your parade, but this thread set off my bs detector.

I agree. Spark plugs do not provide more horsepower. They provide a better spark. There is a difference.
That's it in a nutshell. If you want the technical explanation, can't give it to you. I'm a monkey wrencher not a technician. :p
Crono1321 05-05-2002, 10:23 AM Listen I'm just telling you what the Denso website said ok? They said something like "We dynoed these plugs on a 1996 200sx SE-R with air intake and these were the results: 5hp and 6ft.lbs." or it was something close to that. Its been a couple of months since I got them. I know the car seemed faster. I have yet to dyno it because I don't have that many mods and it would be a waste of money. I don't really drag race, so I don't need to know my exact hp and tq.
