Anyone out there with a custom exhaust have any experience with Thrush Magnum glasspacks? I ordered one because I thought mounting it behind the cat might help reduce some of the extreme highway droning I get at any speed above 65 mph. When I get my 2 1/4" piping installed I had them take out the resonator, too. I have to wear earplugs for long trips now. Will teh glasspack make a big difference? Will it affect the power much? I wouldn't think so 'cause it has a straight through perforated core.

Hey,
I don't have experience directly with Thrush products, but I have installed similarly designed resonators that are not quite as nice as I hear Thrush products are. The results are a pleasant decrease in droning, and a much bassier tone to the exhaust, with little to no raspiness. I did not notice any power loss.
Hope this helps!

Thanks man, That's reassuring. I'm getting it put on tomorrow morning so I can drive to Chicago in relative ear comfort.

I had the Thrush 25" Magna 2 1/4" in/out Glasspack Muffler part #24201 installed after the cat with flanges on both ends. If it goes bad, I can replace it easily. It is mated to 2 1/4" crush bent stainless piping and Borla Turbo muffler.
NOTE: The inner diameter of the perforated core on this glasspack is actually 2". The end pipes are 2 1/4".
I enjoy the sound it produces.
