Have anybody wrecked there 200sx?

I have never wrecked my se-r "knock on wood" but I offen wonder how it would hold up in a high speed wreck. I guess my question is this. How well do our cars hold up in wrecks?

well my previous 98 se-r was rear ended at 50+mph and my car was a stand still. It turned into a hatchback, and the crikled a lil bit. The rear window was blown out but tint held it together.

My car has been rear ended three times in my possesion, and once with the previous owner. All three did about $2000 worth of damage, but the car isn't the same. Little things are rattling all the time. The car just feels like its been beat up too many times. :(

Yeah I too have fell victim to a rearending. Guy hit me about 40mph, tore the car up pretty well. They cut it in half, put on a new rear. Now it looks, and runs like new

Add ours to the list of 200SX SE-R's rear ended (twice).

Hmmm, something strange about a fast type of car frequently involved in rear-enders?

Even though my accident was in a classic, I'd like to add to this thread to support the safety of Nissan engineering.
I was broadsided r/f wheel did something to my steering-no control, hit into the other lanes car going about 35-40mph hit a stationary Ford work truck(f250) head on(he was stopped in the turning lane), I hit so hard both my doors popped open(bent frame) my hood crumpled-the front was smashed, moved the eng/trans backward-touching the firewall. All I saw was the front of the truck, then my hood bending
I walked away-had my seatbelt on, I wear it ALL the time now. Luckily I had a spare classic :D

a couple of weeks ago in my town of chula vista in california a guy was driving a 95 or 96 200sx se-r kinda like the one i have and he was with his friends and decided to race girl with a stock tacoma and wrecked his car looked like a simi slammed right into it (dambass) make a long story short he died and his buddies were pretty jacked up too . saw it on the news and i could tell he had some performance parts on it like an intake , springs, and i could use another ecu so i could get it reprogrammed . So listen up boys & girls dont race if you cant drive worth shit or only race against a car or truck worth your time. Oh yeah anyone living in chula vista hit me up .later:cool:

Yeah about the rear ending. I think the old owner told me some old lady hit him. That is very strange about the our car. Must have hurt like hell or you back anyways.

Pro2000 that must have hurt like hell. That makes me feel better about the 200sx but then again. I kept thinking about what socal story. I have been t bone in a 85 volvo but it didnt hurt at all. I got hit by somebody doing 50mph through a red line. The funny thing is that about 2 months later she gets hired at my work. LOL

Well thanks for the post. Aaron

My first car was a 79 Volvo 244- Hard as a rock.

When I wrecked my 200sx Se-r, I t-boned a guy doing about 50 mph. I smashed the front end up to the strut towers and shifted the front a foot past my left tire. I did $11,000 damage to the car and was totalled out. The airbags went off, I had no seatbelt on and walked away. Because of that wreck, I now know airbags work. The funny thing was when the day came to strip all the shit off my car, I went to start it for shits and giggles, and it did. I drove it right into the shop.

Yeah I was sore also. My legs and crap hurt. As for the volvo, I kinda miss it cause I swear that thing was so cozzy I would just go to sleep in it sometimes at night.

Does a airbag hurt when it hits? I bet the most thing that hurt was the insurents rates after that. :)

When the airbag deployed it happened so fast, I thought I blinked. I didn't feel a thing. When my car came to a stop(spun me around twice) there was smoke and it smelled terrible. I thought my car was on fire or something, but it was just the airbag deployment charge.
