Does the air coming out of it, the air going back to turbo, really need to go there or I can let it open? I would drive like that for max. 6 miles.

You can have the BOV dump to the atmosphere but, it'll richen up a bit in between shifts. But, if you're only doing this once and for a short distance, I don't see the problem.

Doing it for extended periods can destroy your cat in pretty short order. I don't actually know if recirculation is safer for the compressor, but it's better for performance anyway.

Recirculation makes driveability A LOT better. The car will stumble off throttle and in between shifts. The car might stall also. I believe the stock BOV's stay open at idle. So it might not even idle at all.

I'm running a 1rst Gen DSM stock Blowoff Valve and im having no problems so far. Its true that in between shifts and when letting off the throttle I back fire every once in a while. ( Car runs a little rich too ) But car idles fine..doesn't stumble. Driveablility hasn't been affected. *just a little side note ( very important ) I do not have a cat. My 3 inch exhaust has a test pipe in place of the cat. * Im sure my car running rich like it is would kill a cat! ( Luckily my brothers in the Northern Alliance informed me not to put the cat on the car! ) 3 inch Cat almost got ruined.

The thing that is different with the 1st gen BOV is that when crushed, it is not open at idle. Also, ask Antonio. He had a 1st gen DSM BOV blowing to the atmosphere. He even admitted driveability is better. Have you even driven with it recirculated yet to compare driveability?

You can go to Wal-Mart and get a Nerf whistling football. Destroy the ball, and put one of the whistles in the recirculating tube between the CBV and the compressor inlet; just zip tie it to something. BOOM! Loud BOV sound, no stumble! :D

No, I'm not serious. Then again, maybe I am...

Seriously though..... is there a way to make the BOV on a stock bluebird det louder.

You could always get one of these (http://takakaira.com/accessories/nightpager/nightpager.html).

Yeah, but I think my BOV wasn't as well-crushed as Irwin's. My BOV would "whistle" sometimes while I was cruising. So, it was leaky. I need to crush it more and I shouldn't have those problems.

For those that are going turbo and want to keep it as cheap as cheap can be, get a DSM 1st gen BOV. You can find them used for around $50. Crush the top so it won't leak at idle and cruise, and you should be all good.

Just curious... why do you want a loud BOV? I guess it's sorta cool... but is it worth the trouble? As long as the car goes fast, that's all I care about.
