: I need a helping hand...
Rally_SpecWired 09-19-2006, 02:13 PM I was involved in an accident a few days ago.
I'm fine and all, but ny b13 ended up with moderate fron end damage:
The hood, radiator support, metal bumper support, need to be replaced as far as I know.
The car can run and could drive it for a bit, not sure for how long though.
I hope I can save some parts that didn't get damaged beyond repair.
I need help in fixing this car. Nothing fancy, just to make it hold on until I can restore it in 2 years, God's Willing. I am a poor college student so I can spend so much.
If done at my house then I can serve you some nice Dominican rum and beer.
If I am happy with the work that any body does on the car, most probably I will be back. Here are the pics:

BenSR20-t 09-19-2006, 03:23 PM Take off the bumper and pop the hood and post more pics so we can determine what would be needed. Then go pm Fred Casey to hook ya up with some parts.

Notice that the right side seems to have taken more damage, as the bumper support base seems twisted a bit.
I will take the remaining headlight, both fenders and the ac
Rally_SpecWired 10-02-2006, 12:52 PM Good news!
I talked to this guy who worked at a body shop and told me that he will help me out with the rad support. One thing though, he said we have to take the old support and rivet the new rad support to the car. then later I will spot weld it some where else.
What are your thoughts on this?
Unreal~Designs 10-02-2006, 03:54 PM Hahaha, from the first pic I was going to say that the raditator didn't look like it wasn't in that bad of shape
Bump 4 more pix. What do you guys think? Doesn't look too bad, imo.
lol... so much for that
RBI*04 10-02-2006, 08:00 PM i thought the same thing.
and also, if youre not worried about asthetics...the hood can be bent back to shape (i know, i did almost the same thing you did, lol)
itll work untill you save up some cash for a new piece
93specv 10-03-2006, 10:38 AM Good news!

That sounds good
Thank you 93 specv :biggthump
Maybe to give me a pice of mind I will use some JB weld I had left off.
Hey if it's good for an engine block, it has to be good for a radiator support right?
Rally_SpecWired 10-09-2006, 09:51 PM bad news: The frame doesn't seem right:

I'm think about getting a power puller and using a shade tree to pull the frame rail. Before I will consult with someone about it.
If anybody can help me, the offer above still going.
Rally_SpecWired 10-11-2006, 09:29 AM I found these things on ebay

and this:

does anybody knows if this works at all?
sciamop 10-25-2006, 06:14 PM Hey man, I PM'd you.
It's really not that bad.
Depending how thrifty you want to be, I think the rad support is salvageable. This was the biggest expense when I had to fix my car. These body parts websites are full of sh!t: $50 for the part and $200 for shipping!
Get some larger ratchet straps and a big tree. The rad support on the B13 is pretty flimsy so you should be able to pull it out pretty good. Use the ratchet straps to crank out the more deformed parts of it. You shouldn't need a hydraulic puller (your ebay links) for it...
The AC condensor is definitely hosed. You might want to take this opportunity to do the AC delete mod (I doubt it worked on your car anyway). Get a used SE-R radiator from a forum member (I think you are in Fred's neck of the woods, right).
Any junkyard should have a B13 you can get parts from. I spent $100 for a hood, bumper/bumper cover, both fenders, lights and grill for my car. The parts weren't in great shape but they worked.
For the bent frame rail/frame horn, just heat up the bent part with some propane torches and bend it back in shape with a large non-flexible thing (2x4, pipe, etc). Don't go apesh!t with the torch. You just want to have enough heat to bend it. You do not want it glowing cherry red! I'll probably get flamed for this, but it's a Sentra and you're a broke college student!
While you have the AC condensor and radiator out, you should replace the 02 sensor. The car will run better and you'll get better gas mileage. Since you'll have the access, you might as well throw a budget header on there too! You also have good access to most of the belts as well as the h20 pump...
Good luck.
My car was way worse than yours and it drives like a champ today!

Sigh :(
I'm going to sell a couple of suff of mine, so please help me.
Thank you guys for the support, so far.
SENTRASER 11-10-2006, 11:27 PM It really needs to be measured and pulled. That frame rail might be able to be saved, but I doubt it. Your best bet would be to go to a junk yard and cut the frame rail off of a car that already has the motor taken out of it. It needs to have a new frame rail sectioned in, after its been pulled. You may as well just make a front cut of a car from the junk yard, then you will have all the inner structure and everything, including the radiator support. That left (drivers side) apron looks hosed too. Do all the tear down you can on the aprons, get all the wiring off of there, the fuse box and anytyhing elce you can flop over on the motor and it will decrease the labor that a body shop would charge. And for the love of god, chuck that air resiniator, its huge plus its blocking perfectly good airflow to the motor/air filter! ;)
Rally_SpecWired 11-10-2006, 11:36 PM how much you think that might set me back?
