: Whats the biggest tire you run on your FWD car?
QWKSER5 09-19-2006, 06:48 PM I was reading the newest issue of SCC (with the USCC cars) and noticed that the HASport CRX has 255 XX17's on his car. Wtf?! The widest tire I have been able to run is 205. (And I mean street tires to, not giant slicks that you rasie the entire front of your car for and cant turn the wheel more than a half turn without rubbing.) What size tire do you use on your FWD car? I am thinking maybe with my new coilovers (that dont have massive spring perches) and some wheelspacers, I might be able to get 225's on there, or bigger hopefully...
SE-Rawkus 09-19-2006, 06:52 PM I am running 215/55R16. I am sure I can run 235 or so with the Nismo wheel studs & spacers I just put on.
McCoy 09-19-2006, 06:54 PM 225/45/15 R3S04 Hoosiers... sectional width of 9.8" and I've yet to rub :)

nismo94tuner 09-19-2006, 07:00 PM ^I love that picture! I am running 205's. I know of a guy that has the fender flares on his B14 and is running 18x9.5'' rims. I am thinking he mentioned a 235 tire.
QWKSER5 09-19-2006, 07:17 PM Nice. keep em coming. I dont want to go out and buy tires that are to big.:D
burtoNX2000 09-19-2006, 07:35 PM i had an NX2000 with H&R springs and AGX's and i had 225-50 RA-1's on it and they didnt rub. they were on aftermarket crappy 14'' rims. couldnt fit any bigger. oh and mccoy thanks for the boner.

30mm offset, that's probobably pretty hard to come by I would imagine.
veilside180sx 09-19-2006, 09:54 PM I have 15x7 +35 ATS Comp Lites. I'll post pics after they show up this week.

That's not 30mm though.

I only know of the Team Dynamics that you can get in that offset... maybe the KZ-M's from Tirerack. I also use an 8mm spacer in the rear to help clear the rear struts
mpg9999 09-20-2006, 12:03 AM search the autocross/road race forum under my screen name for something like "official wide tire thread". You'll find all the info you are looking for their.
B14 Se-Rious 09-20-2006, 12:04 AM got 16x7 rims dont know the offset, with a 5mm spacer I run 225/50 khumo 711s

Post #8 has a link to that thread... a good read for anyone that's looking to go larger than a 205 width tire :)
Driven97 09-20-2006, 10:59 AM If you google "Spec Miata Wheel" you can find 30 offset 4x100 15 inchers pretty easily. Thanks for Spec Miata!
Falken Hanabis are available in 17x9 (Wow!) with a 20mm offset. I totally want someone to guinea pig those and try for 245s.
I'm probably going with the 225/50 RS2s next time around, supposedly the 225/50 615s are coming out this fall.
McCoy 09-20-2006, 12:16 PM 225/55/15's hoosiers fit, but they rub after 1 full turn and you have to raise the car up to within .5" of factory height :)
