i need to switch setups for a lil while. this means i am getting rid of my gt28r that has its wastegate flapper WELDED SHUT FOR AN EXTERNAL WASTEGATE.
ill trade this straight up for a great conditioned t28 that has an actuator. if not, ill sell for $450 shipped i need to go back to internal wastegate for the time being. this thing has about 1500 miles, lil/no shaft play. always used a turbo timer, etc.

anyone? im considering this instead of buying a brand new one.. (what 1500miles?) and depending on the cost of this new housing it might save a few 100.....

Would a gti-r T28 exhaust housing fit on this?

IIRC the GTiR T28 uses a .86 exhaust housing the the GT28R uses a .64.

You can get the GT28RS with both housings, but it seems like almost everyone uses the .86 one. The original B15 disco potato used the .86.
I'm not sure if the housing is interchangable with the gti-r turbo just because they have the same AR.

Yes they interchange physically. I have bolted a GTi-R T28 housing to a disco potato and it spun without hitting the housing. The issue here is how the turbo would react to the different housing, not that it would suck but it will change the powerband and spool...

Oh wait a sec... this is a GT28R, not an RS. I misread your post. The GT28R probably is a .64 housing.
