can sumone tell me what's the best offset for NX? im thinking about getting the Axis VDP, the white 5-spoke rim, they guy told me the offset is about 38mm, is this good? would i need a spacer for it? it is 17x7, and planning to get sum 215/40/17 tires for it also. thanks for ur advice~!!

As far as offset goes, the local wheel shop (and good friend of mine) said it is usually ok to vary offset by 5mm max for day to day street use. Seeing that the NX2000 has a 40 offset, as low as 35 should be ok. My wheels are 15"X7" with a 35 offset, 205/50-15 and there is still a little space between the rear tire and the shock. 38 offset should be fine even with a 38+ with a 205 or 195 tire (too big an it could rub). Hope this helps.

To tell you the truth I think each manufacture does things their way. I have a 16X7 and it is a 40mm offset and there is plenty-o-space between the strut and tire. Wierd cause I had a 15X7 with a 40mm and a 205 and it rubbed. Wierd science for real!

Tires are weird too. Although my tires are 215 width, they're actually 218 if you measure them.

YMMV

your spot on blokes. The numbers don't always mean they are going to fit. Pain in the arse.

I am going to say it will not clear in the rear
going 215 wide tires and 38mm offset, no spacers.

I have 215/40 Kumhos 712s on 16" Borbet Ts with
35mm offset and it was tight, maybe 3mm from
the rear struts. I didn't run it like that
but have a feeling it would have rubbed under
some turns or when loaded down.

If you get some 1/4" (6.5mm) spacers it will
fit fine. That is what I did and have no problems. They are the $7 universal spacers
from Pep Boys. The spacers are thin enough to safely use the stock wheel studs. The front
wheels/tires will fit without spacers.
