i'm utterly confused!? I can't figure out how to get the thing off. I just brought home NX # 2, and I need to remove the rear spoiler because its cracked.

I removed that plastic covering, and saw the two nuts that needed to be removed. Towards the end of the spoiler, i saw little rubber spikes that looked like they were anchoring in the spoiler.

Do i just yank it off? I've been pulling pretty hard on it, and its not budging!!

According to BF-130 of the Factory Service Manual, there is double sided adhesive tape along all edges like the side molding. The two nuts you found look like the only ones, the rubber spikes are as you said.

I'd guess, use a heat gun and heat it up to about 140 deg and it will slide off.

I swear, that adhesive tape is holding like HeMan!! I'll try the heat gun thing....that won't warp anything, would it?

When I had my '91 NX and I did some minor repairs to the trunk and started to pull from one end of the spoiler and at the same time kinda pushed it forward. So more or less a upward yet circular motion.
It gave off with a little force.

Another trick might be to get some fishing line and run it under the spoiler where the double sided tape is and then just pull it back and forth like your sawing a piece of wood. That might lossen the adhesive as well.

The heat gun is the recommended way to deal with the adhesives of the side molding and the rear light assembly. That is why I'd guessed it would work well with the spoiler. I can't imagine it would hurt anything.

The fishing-line idea is kinda cool. It may be tough getting past the grommets, but hell, why not.
