In my 92 classic, when i turn on my fan I get strands of what appears to be fiberglass shooting out at me!!! Its kind of annoying, it gets all over the place. Its really bad when i first turn it on in the morning, and then not so much when its used constantly. But what the hell is it? whats wrong here?

I think behind the dash is like sound deading material it looks cushiony, might be falling into your fresh air vent opening. Pull out your blower motor and see if anything is in there to be sure. Just a thought.

thanks, but i had the dash off yesterday to swap stereos and didnt see anything in there, its a different kind of material. I pretty sure its strands of fiberglass, looks like .5"-2.5" strands of fishing line.

Just pull the blower motor out just to see if anything is in there.
In my 1st post I meant the entire dash assy, not just the piece in frt of the radio/heater. The whole dash has to be out to see it.

PS-I like DBZ too.

To pull the blower motor, easiest way is to remove the glove box lid and backing, the blower should have 3 screws/bolts holding it.(one the BM bolts is a b*tch, b/c of the glove box).
Only time you would pull the entire dash, is if you have all kinds of crap in there and need to clean the ducts.
