I think I am going to get the GR2 struts from tirerack, but do I need to get the strut mounts and boots? this adds another $140 to the project. I currently have sotck suspension and 140K miles, and am trying to get rid of the clunking and harsh ride.

If you can afford it I would replace the mounts but it is not necessary. As far as the boots are concerned, if they are not torn then you don't need to replace them. I also have a '92 Se-r and just got done replacing the suspension late last night. (11:30pm after almost a week long project of just suspension stuff.) I replaced mine w/ AGX's and GC's. I would recommend the AGX's if you can afford them (and if you can't then wait) and if you plan on doing any road course or autocrossing. Also, if you do need new boots then you can have my old ones off of my old struts. All you have to do is pay for shipping. Good luck.

I have used mounts from my 94 that have very little wear that I'll sell you for a lot less than $100. When I replaced them the new ones only looked prettier because the paint was still there - the old ones have no rust and would work great. PM if you're interested. I have pictures if you want to see them.

Save up a little more money and get the AGX's, look around and you'll see that many of us are happy with them. Give Isidro at www.highperformanceonline.com a call, he's got them for $369 shipped. Also ask him about the strut mounts & boots. I did mine suspension (100k miles) over the winter, and the rear boots were completely trashed, the fronts weren't as bad, but they also needed to be replaced. I don't remember what the mounts looked like.
What are you doing for springs? It's not too late to get in on the group deal for the high rate springs.

Honestly if you don't plan to do anything motorsports related (autocross, track schools) and this is just for running around town, the GR2s are just fine. I have some on my Eclipse and couldn't be happier with them.
If you plan to autocross, save up for the AGXs.

I won't know if I need the boots until I get the time to look this weekend so let llaprad1 have them if he needs them.
