I finally switched over the lower harness back to the KA harness rather then use the SR harness. As a result I know have a working alternator, oil pressure light and speedometer. I thought I could use the SR harness from what I read but thats just not the case with out major re-wiring. Car runs fine. It's been a long ordeal but the light is shinning bright at the end of the tunnel. I still need to tidy up the harness and put the dash back together. Tomorrow should see it on the road as a proud SR-5Speed car. Good times I hope.

Oh, I have driven it around the block a couple times, and we have big blocks out here. It runs fine. I love having the 5 speed again. Idle is a little low but thats easy to fix now. Honestly, it's a stock SR20DE. It's about the same speed as my old KA/auto, I need more seat time to really know the difference. The stick makes it more fun. I plan to turbo it anyway. Then it will be real fun.

Congrats, Steve! It will be interesting to see which way you go on this motor :)

And I will be working on swaping my KA distributor onto the SR so I can get Cap, wires, rotor easily. Car needs a tuneup of those old items.

When you figure it out, let us know how it works (the KA dist on SR engine). This would be another option for us DET guys too, to use a KA dist and coil with a reprogrammed KA ECU.
