Question on which I/C would be more efficient.

A GTiR Topmount with scoupe or a DSM Sidemount. I am looking at budget solutions here so please do not repond with "get a front mount."

I know I run my Talon at 15psi all day long and the I/C works pretty well.

The setup I have in mind would be a t-25 or t-28 at about 10psi.

Thanks,

-Kris

Well, if you're not going FM, where do you plan on putting the DSM IC? I belive that the BB TMIC is quite a bit larger than the DSM unit, and the GTi-R TMIC dwarfs the BB unit. If I were going cheap, I'd get a Mk-III Supra FMIC. They're big, more efficient than the DSM unit, easier to modify, and not too expensive.

DSM is a sidemount and will fit in the fender.

Interesting. Has anyone done testing to figure out what kind of delta impact this provides? I have fog lights down there, but I'm curious anyway. :)

routing it to the side, and routing it to the front are the same effort. intercoolers can be had for around $90.

front mount it.

What is a DSM intercooler

i saw a BB IC for about $90-$100 from andreas, which should be fine for 10 psi, and better than the DSM one, especially for fitment.

Starion intercoolers and the like can be had for $100-200, depending.

watch Ebay! for deals.

I saw a Supra FMIC on Car-Parts.com for $72. This would make an excellent IC for Sentras in my rough estimation, but one would have to weld a lot of pipes. And know how to use a radial-arm- or bandsaw.

The DSM "S"MIC is from a Diamond Star Motors triplet; Talon, Eclipse, Laser. I'm not a huge fan of the Starquest IC, but it definitely works. :)

i cut mine with a hacksaw. put some damned elbow grease into it, or buy a chopsaw for like $50 from a local hardware store.

i cut mine, pieced it together, and duct taped it together until it was all done. then i took it to a welder and had it welded together where the duct tape was. added 1 extra hoseclamp on each side of the IC to allow for flex, and was done. no leaks.
