I am trying to install a bigger and more effective resonator on my b14 SE-L. I have purchased the VRS 3" cat-back and the resonator that it came with is useless. I'm using the stock cat and would like to purchase a resonator that will bolt to my stock cat and connect the the 3" pipe that leads to the muffler. Any suggestions guys? Would I have to find a resonator and weld a custom flange on it to fit my cat or are there resonators that come with the appropriate flange to fit my cat? Thanks in advance,

if u wanna get rid of the cat, i currently have a 36" long, 6" wide, 3" inlet and outlet magnaflow resonator. i welded it only my b13, and it hangs very low, but people have said it fits onto a b14. let me know if ur interested and i'll cut if off for u. if lowered my exhaust sound from no resonator exhaust by about 4 X. Sounds great, and I would keep it, but I wanna get a smaller one. anyways, let me know. as for the flange, u use the same one that was on ur resonator.

I don't know of any resonators that are flanged to fit our cat, or any cat, for that matter. You'll have to weld the new resonator into your exhaust pipping. I think you have three choices in terms of good 3" resonators:
1. Dynomax Bullet - cheapest, but probably loudest
2. Magnaflow 14419 - decent price, and good sound suppression
3. Borla XR-1 - most expensive, and probably the quietest
