so im driving the other day... at times, id get short bursts of hesitation and hte car would lurch...so im taking off from a stop sign, my tach jumps and the car shuts off...didnt start, had no desire to start either... am thinking its the distributor since my fuel pump turns on...help?

before jumping to the most expensive thing in the whole ignition system start with the cheap shit.

-plugs... 1.77 a piece., make sure your getting spark at the plug
-wires... $50ish.. make sure your wires are not worn out
-cap and rotor - $20ish - take a look to make sure everything isnt worn out
-distributer 200+

Also check your battery/alternator.

i doubt any of that, the car died all of a sudden and had no desire to turn on again...caps fine, rotors got some carbon tracking on it or whatever its called, i jsut get no spark period
