Something that really pisses me off is hail. The other day I was at work and all the sudden golf balls of hail start to hit for like 10 mins. I look out side and see my car getting its ass kicked by hail. I was so pissed. I didnt use to have not a single dent or scatch on the car anywhere but now I have about 25. It got the side of the car, hood, roof, and truck. Its a great thing I have full coverage or I would go on a rage. I wonder if I can milk it and get my car painted some kick ass color or just leave it white? Any suggestons?

I had hail damage on the hood, roof and trunk of my old car. Took it to a paintless dent repair place, and they fixed it for about $300. There were only some very minor imperfections left that you could only see if you were in the right light and specifically looking for them.

yeah i dont want to go with anything else besides another shade of white cause when the paint chips then you will be able to see white. That would a nice color but i bet the that paint cost out the ass since its lexus. if its around the same price then i am just going to paint it that. Thanks Aaron

Dude, I was in Oak Ridge Sunday Autocrossing, and a drop never hit the ground. I got sunburned, even! When I got home, my wife was talking about baseball sized hail, and I thought she was lying! Must be some sort of Nuclear force field up there, or something... or maybe all the radiation keeps the hail from hitting the ground:p

It would be cool if a bunch of us Tennessee folks meet up one day. About the engine, I dont know who you could get to install it. When I messed up my car, I thought I was going to have to do a swap and diddnt have a clue who to get to do it. I asked mechs. around here and nobody wanted to work on my car cause it was not a ford, chev, or dodge. Damn rednecks. :)

Kelways I will be in your area Friday cause I have to run and see my grandparents.

Amen, brother. There's a NOPI show at Pigeon Forge June 28-30. Also, I believe a Nashville-centric dyno day may still be on the backburner. Eric, might this still be in the works?

Damn rednecks, indeed. I went into Tenn. Speed Sport when I had a different 91 SE-R back in '93, and they about laughed me out of the store. Now they sell Honda crap.

Last night parts of Kentucky got hit by hail that was up to 6" in dia. They weighed about 3 pounds. These things went through peoples roofs like they were nothing. I got lucky, the storm split before it got to my city. It went north and south of where I live.:D

Ditto - we got spared also....

Talk about bad hail luck....

The day I got the green 200sx and took it to try and get registered I called to get insurance, since I figured I'd get it registered and bring it back into the garage I got liability only for 1 month, no kidding, I was like 5 mins from getting stuff out of the way to pull it into the garage when it hit about 2 months ago.... talk about pissed.... its very light on the green car if noticable at all, but my NX got nailed :-(

Chris

hates hail

Hell we haven't had hail in a long time in KY before this year have we?

My dad said that it was the worst hail around here that he could remember.

I think about painting the car to a spec v. yellow. What do you guys think. I KNOW i said white but I just think that it would look sweet.

llarp - who did you end up to get to work on your car. I wish there was somebody around here that did like det swap and thinks of that nature.

Kelway - did you go to that meet?

Ive done everything myself ever since Ive had *this* SE-R.

When I had a previous one, something punctured a hole in my oil pan, causing me to blow my first engine. The insurance company covered ot, but the junkyard they obtained the engine put that one in.

I once went to check on it, and it was up on the stand with the FSM wide open!

Otherwise, The Workshop in Nashville here does great work, fast and cheap.
Also Crawford's Z Car woks on mainly Nissans, but they are a bit pricey.

Also Bloodsworth Motorsports works on quite a bit of racing BMWs.

Cool. I didnt know insurents cover engines. That cool how you did the work yourself. I would try to do that but I am short tempered so I would end up doing more damnage than good. You think any of those places would do a det swap? I am either getting Jason Young in VA to do it or somebody around here that I can trust.
