i recently posted about a whistling/turbine noise a while back when i would accelerate,,, that noise has been very minimal lately and am not too worried about it as i got an opinion from Guss at Throttle Position at the rally.

well anyway,
i've noticed a new "TSSSSSSSSSS" noise only at exactly 2600 to 3000 RPM,,,,, and this happens on every gear. Has anyone had a problem like this??? or know what it could be?

NismoNX2000, my bestest friend John, has this same problem too. Well, you could describe it like that anyway. Same RPM's too.

When I heard it, it sounded like it was coming from the fuel rail or the associated lines. We're gonna try to replace the fuel filter to see if that helps. God only knows if that has *ever* been touched.

do you know how long he's had this noise on his car??

i've had mine for about 2 to 3 weeks or so now. Car still performs great though,, just wanting to know if its major.

I believe he's also had it for about the same amount of time. It runs fine as well. That's weird that your symptoms are so alike!!

i had the same thing with my B12 it didnt always happen, only sometimes then it would go away. never figurted out waht it was :(

My Primera engine does it, too. You're right, it almost sounds like a turbo. It also has never affected my performance. I don't know if it still does it anymore because my exhaust/intake probably drown out the noise now.

well at least im not the only one,,,,

so just out of opinion, would any of you think it would be the engine? or the tranny??? Just asking because i may want to have it checked.

also note my car has 146,000 miles

yep, i know exactly what noise your talking about....ive been driving my car for 22k now and ive had the noise ever since i got the car. Its never been a problem, it doesnt affect performance, its just kinda annoying. Only at those rpms too..its really wierd. I guess nobody can shed any light on this subject. Oh well, i suppose we will just have to live with it.

Is the timing chain gaurd still there? If so, take it off. I was getting a rattling noise from the engine at 3k rpms or so. Removal of the chain gaurd made it go away.

Could the noise just be from a vaccum hose that has a leak? Maybe one of the one's on the emissions system, which might not make a noticeable difference in performance.

Ok my ride has that same fucking sound.... I thought at first it was my intake filter.. but it is not... It sounds like a turbo ..

But no problems are present...
