Would any one know why my car dies as soon as the fans come on? Also when the car get to normal temperature, the coolent resivoir box fills up and then over flows, then the fans kick on and the car dies. This has never happened to me and it just started doing this today. Im thinking that I have too much coolent in the system? I just filled it today. But that would not solve the fans killing the engine. Any help would be appreicated.Thanks.

Does your engine temp ever get very hot, as if to overheat?
I would think...
Coolant temp sensor, then Thermostat, then water pump...
Coolant temp sensor first, because that controls the fans as well. It sends to ECM, and works in tandem with VSS and Air Conditioner ON signal, blah blah blah...
Could be faulty water pump, which I doubt because if there's no flow, there shouldn't be any OVERflow, but I've been wrong before. I don't have the coolant flow diagram to tell you if it is in fact caused by water pump. Still may be worth a looksie.

Well its not the coolent temp sensor because I had gone through the whole temp sensor mess. So I got that working. The water pump is brand new because I put that on before I put the engine in the car. All thats left is the thermostat which I dont understand. I had this car running and then took the turbo off to get the seals replaced which they werent even bad and then I get it all together today and start it and now this. The resivoir overflowed so I think that I had too much coolent in the system and now when the fans come on the car dies. I did however just start the car a little bit ago, and it did the same thing but the resivoir did not over flow so im thinking I just had too much water in the system. But the fans still did the same thing. However, I saw that the fan was hitting something so I moved that. Now that the fans had come on and shut the car off I can not seem to get the car running again. I guess i'll just wait till tomorrow when the car cools down and try again.

Does your engine even crank?
I would think to check the bat. and the alt. also... It could be that the fans are sucking too much amperage from your almost dead battery, and cause it to kill off the car?

Yeah it cranks, I have it running up unitll the point to where the fans come on. Once they come on then the car stalls out. I do know that the alternator belt is a little loose because I hear it squeek. I have not got around to tighten that yet but that has always been like that since I had it running the last tiem. Like I said everything is the same as it was before I took the turbo off but this go around the fans are killing hte car. I think that what ever it was hitting was putting too much strain on the fans causing it to kill the car? I will try again tomorrow. Also the battery is not dead because I took it out of my dd.
Thanks.

Have you tried to hardwire your fans to see if them coming on kills your car? I would think that if you hardwire them to come on permanently, that it could be a problem with the relays?
