Alright, so I finally have my VE-Primera up and running with a new Centerforce clutch instead of the JGY that died. I have driver her quite a lot during the last days, and a lot of that time has been driving in a queue. I think you guys call it a traffic jam? Anyways, this makes me roll on idle in either 1st or 2nd gear, to stay at the right speed.
Sometimes, when the rpm is about 1000, the car will buck pretty bad, and really have that sticky feeling..like when sometimes when you go on the throttle, and open it up just a few %, then get off again, it feels like the engine slows down really fast, and you get thrown forwards when the car bucks.
Anyways, this a lot of the times when I'm around that those rpms, no %on the TPS.
Setup is:
SR20VE with euro-DE distributor, DE-maf, DE throttle-body with DE-tps and DE ECU. Fuel filter is about 1,5 years old, air filter is K&N57i, not dirty. Plugs has been run for about 1,5 month at 0..40" (about 1mm). Plug cables is 1,5 years old. Timing is at about 21 degrees, and base-idle is set to about 750-800. TPS read..hmm..well, I haven't checked the volts on it, but iirc the S-AFC2 reads it at about 0,52 volts on closed, and 4,3 or something on fully open.

Sorry if the explanation was bad. Just tell me if I should re-write anything, and I'll try to explain it better with better english. The problems is getting pretty annoying, cause it makes me look kinda foolish when cruising around at slow speeds, when it suddenly starts bucking like that. If anybody got any ideas, I'd really appreciate it :)

Happens me in my vz-r (16ve),its worse when cold,I know others do it too,i thought it's just the way it is,never really thought of it as a fault! And yea has made me look like i can't drive a couple of times,my clutch is standard,ya think i had some heavy duty racing clutch in there the way the car bops around or just below a 1000rpm!

Change your fuel filter :)

Also get some throttle body cleaner and spray a little bit in the throttle body.

hmm i never heard of this on a non turbo motor.. however on a turbo motor this happens because of vacuum problems... do you guys have aftermarket intakes? make sure all the vaccum hoses are like stock and you dont have things blocked off... also chechk you IACV (if the ve has one)... normal sr20 idle problem troubleshooting

if its always done it - its fixable - friends vvl that I tuned did pretty much the same thing
you could try resetting your tps to correct specs and make sure the closed throttle switch is working (closed when your not touching the gas - open when youve touched the gas pedal and its actually moved a bit) if thats wrong it can cause things to act in an annoying way sometimes

there is also 3 ignition tables that contribute to the jerking

there is the main ignition table, the closed tps in gear idle table and the closed tps out of gear idle table

if these are mismatched you can get very nasty jerking at very light throttle openings as the car bounces timing between the main map and the closed tps map its on - if this is the reason for your jerking then you need the rom changed

if its only just recently started causing your grief after youve done some work - then you have left something undone (plug, vac hose or something)

just food for thought...

I would say clean the AAC valve see how it goes or use a multimeter to get the voltage or ohms from your TPS, do that when ignition off .
