Hey folks,

I starting to realize that I may have seating issues with the stock 200sx SE-R seats.

In the most comfortable position I am in , I find that my clutch leg (left leg) keeps hitting the steering wheel. I can push my seat a bit farther back so that my clutch leg doesn't touch the steering wheel, but then it's a longer reach for my clutch leg and it's kind of uncomfortable to have my leg almost completely straight with the clutch all the way in.

Has anyone else experienced this? And found a solution?

Thanks!

Raise the steering wheel a little maybe? You know it is adjustable. :)

I have the B13 SE-R seats in my 200sx and would highly recommend them, but they don't actually change the driving position. They just have better side bolsters.

I wasn't a big fan of the driver ergonomics when I first bought my 200sx a few years back. To tell you the truth though, I've just gotten used to it. It drove me crazy for months, but I haven't even thought about it for a long time now.

the thing is that I have raised the steering wheel to the max. hah... yeah, I know it's adjustable. I just wish it was telescopic also.

no offense;) but you must be a big guy, i'm 6'1" and 260lbs and my legs don't hit the steering wheel in the midle of adjustment

I'm only 5'9", 174lbs !!!

maybe I have longer legs? hmm... I just find that if I put my foot on the clutch pedal, it touches the steering wheel. Hence, if I want to turn my steering wheel, my hands run into my clutch leg if my foot is on the clutch.

Or... maybe I shouldn't have my foot on the clutch pedal all the time?

I have the same seat problem with my 95 too....

Someone suggested to me to remove the adjust rails on the bottom of the seat and bolt the seat down. This would put the seat in fixed position but would give an extra inch. I have not yet tried this but I am looking into it.

Another related problem I have is that with an autocross helmet on my head rubs the ceiling when I drive. This is very annoying. If anyone has removed adjustment rails and it worked please let me know how they did it.

Do after market seats sit lower in the car? Do they have less padding? How much room do you think I would gain from getting one.

I thought about the aftermarket seat option. (They are NOT cheap. yikes!) I heard some seats raise your position. Interesting to have it so that you sit lower. then you could just recline the seat up so you seat more straight?

Has anyone tried to remove the headliner…..I figure that would probably give me an extra inch and shave off a few pounds.
