Well, ever since we installed my Cai, my car does not seem to want to run smoothly when its first started up in the morning. The rpm's drop down below 500 and the car feels like its about to stall, then it catches itself again and pops back up to 1100 rpms. It will sometimes do this 2 or 3 times before its warmed up. When its warm however, and i start it, its fine. Does anyone have any clue as to what is going on?? I was thinkin it might be the fuel filter, but im not sure. Any help would be apprecaited. Thanks in advance....

Check for a Vacuum leak. Make sure you put the hoses back in correctly.

Could a semi-kinked cheap-ass hose from the back of the crankcase cause this?
I replaced that rear hose which comes somewhat pre-formed from the factory with a regular hose when I replaced the engine. I also replaced every vacuum line with new hoses.
Since then my RPM has always dipped when cold.

Believe it or not, check all fuses related to engine electronics. It's not all that uncommon, and is an easy fix!:)

Mine has done it for 6 months. I went through and cleaned all the emission components, replaced a lot of vacuum lines, timing, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, throttle body service. It seems to do it only when it's cold and for like only the first 2 minutes. Then it runs like a champ. It would be nice to figure out what the hell is causing this but as long as she starts every morning...

Im the dude with the original post, and on se-r net there was a suggestion put down that worked supposedly. If the car is hunting to maintain idle and about to stall, it says to put the key into the on position for like 10 seconds, so the pressure in the fuel system has time to come up, and then start the car. It said this should alleviate the cold starting problem. Im gonna try it today, *** i already checked for vacuum leaks, and i have none that i can find. Ill let you know if it works.
