When I accelerate going down the highway, the Temp guage goes down fast....when I let off it comes back up. The only thing I could think of is the belt is slipping on the pulley. The belt got some oil on it from a valve cover leak a while back. I thought maybe it was a busted head gasket and I was leaking boost into the cooling system...but I did a compression test and it was 160psi all the way across. no oil in the coolant and vice versa. This one has me stumped...lol. Any suggestions?!

You're using a B14 ECU, right? If so, don't worry about it; I know several B14s that do this. You're not overheating, right? If not, then don't worry about it. I'd still get an aftermarket temp. gauge (stock sucks).

That's so odd....lol. I wonder what the hell it could be. bad ground? Does the temp guage sensor have anything to do with the ECU though? I know there's 2 of them there. One for the ECU and one for the guage in the dash. The car isn't over heating..Don't know what the problem is.lol

swap the gauge sender. Its like 10 bucks from autozone and it fixed the same problem in my car. . also make sure the head is bled and has no air bubbles.

Who knows why it does this! Mine is starting up now too!! The temp sender for the guage (the one with the single tab) has nothing to do with the ECU.
