My mechanical knowlege is alright, i have done injectors, brakes, used to work at a car shop for a while, i was wondering if i decided to do a S13 DET swap into a S13 240, how hard is it??? Has anyone had major proplems or does the engine use bolt in, clips line back up together, i am sure that i can find help if i run into a jam, or do you think i should leave it up to the professionals????? Any suggestions??????

Its easy. You just have to find the right wiring diagrams, which I have now, but didnt when we were doing the swap.

The best advice I can give is to buy the WHOLE front clip, not just the engine and mafs.

And dont let anyone tell you that, "To get a good SR20 you need to pay $2400" "Or you get what you pay for".

Reason being is that I was under this impression also, but most of the people who sell SR20's never even see the engine their sending to you.

Come to find out the engine I ordered from a company up north, was actually coming from Ft. Lauderdale, 30 minutes from where I live. When it was delivered the guy from Ft. Lauderdale asked me how much I paid, and I told him $2400, and he was like DAMN! they made a lot of money off you.

I learned a few things since, and one is that....the people who sell RWD SR20's have there market brainwashed into thinking that you have to pay more to get better OR atleast NOT $2400 F#$%ing dollars. The other is when you order your engine make sure its form the actual importer and not just some middle man who needs to jack the price up just so theyll actually make some money off the sale.

Lostprojects.com also sells engines cheap....but their kind of new, so their really is no feed back from customers yet.

All I know is that the guy who delivered my engine basically said I got ripped of by paying $2400, and that hell beat any price I throw at him. I saved his phone# in my cell phone, so next time I buy an SR20, Im just going to buy it from him instead, since he is the distributor for the company that I bought my engine from.
