I'm trying to mount my V1 remote display where the clock is on the tachometer. Basically like this, but pushed back flush with the tach:

The only problem is I loose access to the mute button on the remote display. I need to somehow extend it so I can still press it, like the odometer reset and clock reset buttons. I don't want to just glue something on there, especially because the button is rubber. Anyone have any ideas?

make somthing that attatches to the clear plastic with a spring and such

I'm sure you could crack it open, cut the wires and wire another switch in and move it wherever you want to.

There are no wires to cut, but after taking it apart there is a way I can wire in another switch, which is what I'm going to do.

Here is where you need to solder new wires:

I originally soldered them on the front like that, but then redid them with them going into the back of the board. That way you can easily route the wires out the back of the unit. It also leaves room to put the old button back in so it looks like nothings changed on it.

Back of the display with the the wires coming through it, you can also see the button sitting next to it that I'll be using.

Man, that sucker is a tight fit!! It isnt mounted yet, I've worked on it enough today. I need to solidly mount it and clean it up later sometime.
