: Need help! SAFC tuneup...
Opelevod 10-20-2006, 01:49 AM Hi everyone!
Eysterday installed SAFC in my Pulsar sr16ve. Wiring is OK, I`m sure. But idle is unstable, very unstable! Also I have collapse while accelerating from low revs... All corrections set to zero... I think some troubles with Sensor type settings. Manual says nothing about those settings: "Sensor no" and "Sensor cal". I have only sensor number from the list - HW-6 or HW-14. I set both In and Out of "Sensor no" to 6 or 14. Still those troubles... Maybe someone could help? Thanks again
macakin 10-20-2006, 08:07 AM sensor type = hotwire, senson 3 in, 3 out check with that, also make sure that you are using the correct wires for the maf, hope that helps
Opelevod 10-23-2006, 05:31 AM I set 14 and 14 for hotwire, regarding to a list... hmmmm, will try to set 3 and 3... wiring is correct, I`m sure...
Could it be SAFC failure? I also found that Ground wires - brown and black, those, which should be wired to one ground wire, were set wrong and I changed wiring. Nothing happend... Could I damage SAFC while setting wrong ground?
Opelevod 10-23-2006, 08:29 AM Tried to set 3 and 3... No result, exept idle became stable...
I hear collapse while revving slowly - through 2000 revs and something about 3500... If I push pedal hardly, revs goes to redline without any trouble...
Seems strange to me... Feels like it cuts fuel for a second or less near 2000/3500 revs...
Any idea?
macakin 10-23-2006, 05:40 PM did you solder the connections, double check the grounds one should be closer to the ecu that the other one
Opelevod 10-24-2006, 01:49 AM No I didn`t solder... Ground is correct.
I`ll solder, hope this will help...
The worst thing left is that damned loss of power between 2000 and 3000 revs when revving low...
Which voltage should be while "Sensor check"?
Cabin03 10-25-2006, 04:33 AM Try to measure the TPS voltage with multimeter, unplug TPS the voltage should be between 0.4 ohm (throttle close) to 5 ohm (throttle fuuly open).
any figure far away from that means TPS is gone if is not adjust it )loose screw top and bottom) as long as close to that figure shouyld be fine.
macakin 10-25-2006, 07:49 AM it should be Volts instead of ohms .48V
Opelevod 10-26-2006, 02:48 PM TPS voltage is OK.... soldering contacts didn`t give any effect :( damn...
davkav 10-27-2006, 04:58 PM im having the exact same prob at the moment with a friends vzr that im fitting a safc to.
Idle is all over the place, rev up to about 2000 - 3000 and its literally gurgling on the petrol once past oit revs like normal to the limit
Strange........
Opelevod 10-30-2006, 01:59 AM YESSSSSS!!!! I did it!!!!
Can`t avdise anybody in same situation, but I unpluuged all connections and soldered again... REBOOT :D Everything works!
Guys, could anybody advise me which correction settings should I set if my cams are activated at 5600 and 6500 revs? Is there any experience of those settings? Its to hard to find wideband lambda or dynostand here...
Which settings do YOU have for HIGH and LOW throttle?
Thank YOU! :)
macakin 10-30-2006, 04:36 PM I knew it was related with soldering :D congrats , and about tunnig your best bet is with a wideband, not everycar is the same or uses the same tunning
Opelevod 10-31-2006, 01:32 AM :) could you write your settings, just to know the point to start from...? I will try to find wide band, but I have to weld extra nut for wideband lambda to my exaust before...It will take time.
