Got a problem I need help with. Periodically when try to start my car it acts like there is no power whatsoever. No dome light or idiot lights come on at all. If I click the head lights on nothing happens. If I switch them a couple more times or play with something else electrical the power returns and everything is normal. Then the car starts right up and has no further problems until I shut it off again.

Like I said, this doesn't happen all the time and the temperature outside has no effect that I can tell. I checked the cables and conections at the battery and everything checks out good there.
Does anyone have any tips where I should start looking from here?!

Disconnect your battery and check all of your altinator connection for corosion or a short. In some rare cases, a relay can short out. Look for any dicolored/burnt relays. Sounds like a short alright. Have your battery load tested just to play it safe. Just a few ideas.

Thanks for the tips. Can you tell me if there is one main power relay for all the power when you turn the key on? And if so, where is it. It would seem as if that is what is sticking but I have no idea where it is located or if it is a series of relays. Thanks for the help.
