SR20Turbofreak 04-20-2007, 09:42 AM this is going in your car?
No, I have a 6spd install happening, and so does P10DET. He will probobly get his together first thoughh.

well i know your wasnt going in yet, i was asking Mike if his swap was going in his car, cause i know he is planning on doing more than one of these swaps...
ZoliElo 04-20-2007, 02:05 PM Impressive fellows. Particularly the added difficultly of a auto to 6 speed swap.
p10det 04-20-2007, 09:58 PM figured out an issue. chuck andreas will get in contact with ya. i would have had mines done by tomarrow but their is a bit of info you need to know.
once we have it corrected we will have it squared away. i hd to to tear out and part n auto and put it bck together to night. ws the first time i had to reinstall auto shit but im game. give me a # on pm nd i contact ya on the exact issue.
this is knowthing major but some key parts will need changing. but hey im just trying to get all the bugs worked out. but im lil dispointed s i cant ge thte instll done this weekend.
but dont worry everybody else we will have this swap down. the trannys are perfect fits and it is up to us to get everything in order
p10det 04-20-2007, 10:12 PM my first swap is going in a p10 owned by a coworker of mines car. his name is mike also. we atempted to bang out most of the work tonight but found a problem tht is going to get corected. what i can say is that the spec-v shifter essy fits in the p10 like a glove and just need longer studs to bolt it in the front 100%. I will only give detail when 100% installed and running.
but we did find out how long it tkes for us to take an auto out and find an issue and put it back to normal. not to say it was a wast of time at all but its all in time that we will have this done. Im a lil pissed cuase i wont be driveing a 6spd p10 tomarrow. but in the same sence i will get very good at this sort of swap.
what i can say is this will be done very soon just not by tomarrow like i planed
p10det 04-23-2007, 08:13 PM damn it im itchy as all hell and need this thing done oh well. thier is a hold up and that al ya need to no for right now other wise their would be pics up of the first sr hylicol burn out lol. i actually will be doing theese swaps in the future but will not be willing to help ya all install your own it wll be either i install or it does not get done. miko hass been a very gret guy and has been on point with most of what he has never done and nore seen. i really wish my first swap was done already but miko and chuck and i have to work out one bug and this thing is done
eXtremist 05-01-2007, 11:14 PM Does anyone have a picture of inside a Spec V tranny?
Installing one requires the shifter movement to be changed from shaft to cable?
How much do these transmissions usually go for?

i can find the trans for $350 all day long here in WA.
u need the shifter, cables and such.
i do not have a pic inside the trans as of yet.
p10det 05-06-2007, 12:51 PM Have you found any 04 max trannys? I just blew my p10's trans for the 2nd time and this time theri is a hole in it so i can not rebuild.
I did not take any pics of the inside of the spec tranny cuase i did not want to be responsible for people mixing up detents and shit like that and end up locking up their tranny
if some one want to send me their tranny and belhouseing and such i will put the trans together for ya for $100.
SR20Turbofreak 05-06-2007, 10:55 PM the max trans are out there but for $750 and up.
p10det 05-08-2007, 06:26 AM i just found one for 600 im trying to get some one to help me pick it up this weekende trans has 47k on it
p10det 05-29-2007, 08:44 PM well i can say i finally got to drive the project carwith a 02 spec-v trnny today. very much fun. the 350Z clutch did help it chirp the tires in 4 gears.
i may put up pics here soon but if i can remember i should have just a few pics on g20.net tommarow. but the spec tranny can turn a stock sr20 into a beast. i really can't beleave how the cars runs with just a timeing advance and the bottom half of the air box hacked off
RedDragun 05-29-2007, 08:59 PM Damnit this is tempting.
p10det 05-29-2007, 09:58 PM oh yes it is. i hve a max tranny waiting for my car and stoopid me had to find out that my tranny was open dive so know i need to spend like 400+ in prts to convert to hlsd. but the first car is done and now i can play with my car.
i can say the oem 350Z clutch we used in this car grabs hard as hell with this trans and i chirped 4th gear with ease. was really fun to play after all the work
RedDragun 05-29-2007, 10:04 PM What is a good 250mm clutch to use for 500wtq(high as I'll probably go)?
Will you be selling these as a bolt in kit?
p10det 05-29-2007, 11:06 PM Im not sale's person and do not sell parts. so i cn not tell y what clutch will be best. the car we got running is on a stock oem 350z clutch nd we hve found the z32 pp will never fit in a sr20bell houseing . we will be boosting this car very soon to see what it will take other than tht i o not know off hand what will hold what and what will fit. cuase what we have installed required bel houseing grinding in one spot but that will be required to fit the current mad flywheel to work right now. i think but am not 100% that another flywheel will be made and wopfully more info will be given t that time

This problem does not occur on right hand drive vehicles. So installs into the N14/N15 pulsar or even the UK Primera's would make it an easier conversion.
p10det 05-30-2007, 10:14 PM i have the pics the p10 i swaped from auto to 6spd on g20.net. if you guys want please go their and surch and check them out.
