I need to make a correction.. I meant cut the mounting tabs off of the engine supprt and move those forward which inturns moves the engine forward.. I'm really thinking about swap but starting to wonder is it really worth it!

If your thinking of doing what I think you are, then your engine will be twisted in the engine bay which means the driveshafts are not parrallel/straight between the hubs which will cause all sorts of trouble(like wanting to twist the chsssis!

This really sounds interesting and I would like to do this to my B13 but yet still have not seen or heard anyone actually doing this. I read this entire form and obviously cant do this anytime soon but would like to do this in the future. Guess we will see if anyone does this in the future.

in reference to post# 398 and #400, iamhappy46 really didnt answer my question fully, but i'm not upset, i'm actually glad someone responded. but really can you spare a inch or so and move the mounting tabs on the engine support forward a little and then proceed to install it all in a b13? it seems like the only problem is space between the firewall and transmission and/or cross member that makes this a bitter harder than any other chassis.
Andreas please chime in!!!!

Hi Guys, can anyone please tell me the shaft length of the B15 shafts you are using fir this between the joints, so when installed in the car, or even better if you have the shafts out of the car and you "bottom out" the shafts (compress them) what the length is from where the inner cup ends to where the outer cup starts.

I'm having issues locally (australia) finding a shaft or hybrid that will work as we didn't get the B15 with QR's local so i have no option there. I don't want to commit to buying B15 shafts and spindles unless its the only last remaining option i have due to the cost for shipping etc.

I have a set of the factory P12 shafts for the P12 OEM box, but they're too long to fit into my B14 (N15 AUDM) car.

Doesn't matter now, they couldn't help when i asked. I just got a local shop to make up a set of shafts from scratch to my exact specs, should have them in a few days and will sort out all the problems.

So you want to keep the stock engine to chassis mounting point BUT move the gearbox to chassis mounting point, therefore putting the engine and gearbox on an angle in the engine bay?

I was looking up the transmission codes and the FSMs have this listed:
02 Spec-V RS6F51H
03 Spec-V RS6F51A
05 Spec-V RS6F51A

Is this information correct? There are 2 numbers that match for 2 different years of transmissions. it's saying the same part number for the '03 and '05 trannys. Can anyone confirm this?

The '02 was the only one with a different trans.

'03-'06 had the same trans.

H means Helical LSD
A means open diff

So, does anyone know what the part numbers are with the helical diff?
I have a line on a couple of trannys and just want to make sure I am getting the right thing, because I won't be able to return them and i can't personally look at them before purchase.

Does anyone have any good pictures of the transmission before install to verify what they look like?????
Does anyone have pictures after the install to see what everything looks like installed? I would be curious how the cables and such are run.....
Does anyone know which switches or sensors we are supposed to use on the tranny? There are like 6 of them on there.

The RS6F51H is the Helical LSD gearbox. The RS6F51A is the open gearbox. The firewall where the chassis plate is will have the transmission code listed there, that is easiest way to find the correct transmission ;)

This is the 6 speed in my N14 Pulsar(RHD B13 chassis) and you can see the cable selector pins where the cables attach in the bottom middle of picture. The bracket that locates the cables is in the middle of picture

The cable selector gear lever mechanism

There is a neutral, reverse and speedo sensor just like a normal gearbox :) Try and get the plugs to suit(they unplug further back in the loom to give you all 3 sensors)

The 6 speed is the MFA60 on the above page :)

Open diff has a crosspin visible if you look through the driveshaft holes.
Helical diff has no crosspin visible if you look through the driveshaft holes.

Top sensor is Reverse, rear sensor (facing firewall) is neutral and works just like regular B13/14 transmissions, they just have a different plug.

I will also add a comment to the pictures posted by iamhappy46 above that the gearbox casing sits considerably closer to the k-frame in an SR fitment compared with the VQ fitment.

Just a quick FYI: The P11 tranny mount has to be replaced with the spec mount for this swap to work. I will post more on it later.

As for the Sensors, they will NOT screw into the spec tranny. They are too small. The spec sensors threading is physically wider.

A couple posts up says the sensors are the same but different plug. Probably easier to splice in spec v sensors than to machine the holes. Also what year P11 trans?
