I want to get opinions and feedback from all of you on what what you think of this.
My plan is to buy a sr20de and do the flollowing:
1. Get engine bored .20 or most likely .30 over.
2. Get it fitted with high compression 10:1 or 11:1 pistons custom made by JE which I got quoted at $640 for the set.
3. Get my ecu done by jwt and set up for high compression.
4. Install a stage 3 clutch.
Do you all think these will work together well, and what type of power output do you guestimate Ill be lookin at??
These are the main mods that I will do when the engine goes in. After my cash flow recuperates from this I will add a 9lb flywheel, headers, and CAI.
Thanks for the input.

Everything looks good i would do stage II clutch though stage three is pretty much for pure drag racing. If you are going to use this as a daily driver not a good idea.

Why are you considering new pistons?
For the amount of money you are looking at with new pistons and labor you would be better off considering a DET or VE motor.
I have done a complete buildup of an SR20DE with rods, pistons, DPR headwork, etc. and I can honestly tell you it's not worth it.
DET or VVL are the only ways to go.

I wouldnt even bother with the .20 overbore or .30. Id just go for the 300zx Pistons, and put the money i save towards cams.
IIRC the biggest you can go on a stock head gasket is 87.5mm. So for the .30 overbore you will have to get a custom head gasket $$$.
.20 over bore = 2056cc of fun
.30 over bore = 2087.73cc of fun
300zx pistons = 2044.96cc of fun
Good Luck!

Word.
Bolt-ons are not really worth it. The ratio of HP per dollar is so much better with boost.

If you want to go all motor, go for it. I am planning on going all motor. My reasoning. I want to build something for the drag strip. I would like to eventually bracket race. I feel that so many people are going turbo that there is so much competition in the turbo class. I feel there are not as many people in the natural aspirated class. And I don't like to follow the herd. Obviously, it depends on what your plans are with your car. No intention to offend anybody just wanted to speak up as an all-motor guy.

Okay well since boost is better, hp wise, where is the best place to buy one. I did consider one from jgy, but at the same time I like on from www.ardperformance.com . Their engine , tranny, and ecu together is 2600. Jgy is 1700 just for motor, plus 450 tranny, and another 250+ for ecu and it almost equals out.
Where do you all recommend getting one?
I like the torque of turbo'd engines but still considering a vvl.

ardperformance.com gives you an awd tranny which will NOT work. JGYcustoms.com will be your best bet. If you have an sr20de you already have the tranny. JGY is a good guy and will take care of you.
