: Aftermarket Speakers
SE-Romeo 05-03-2002, 12:27 PM OK, i am looking around cruthfield for some after market speakers, I found components that i want, but it says they will nto fit my car. In fact if only gives a few options, which are not components (which is what I am lookign for). Anyone have aftermarket sepakers in their car? If so what kind and what size/modifications did you avhe to do???? '96 Nissan 200SX SE-R
Daniel2145 05-03-2002, 01:10 PM I just got the audiobahn 6 1/2" all the way around and it sounds very crisp and clear. Those nissan stock speakers were total crap. A buddy of mine has boss competition 6 1/2" in his 200sx and his sounds almost as good as mine. It just depends on how much money you want to spend. Infinity also makes very good components, and for a reasonable price.
Let me know exactly what your looking for and i can get it for wholesale prices.
4 - 6 1/2" audiobahn - 129.95
4 - 6 1/2" boss competition - 69.95
4 - 6 1/2" infinity components - 149.95
2wdBlazer 05-03-2002, 01:23 PM I have the 6 1/2 Boston Accustic Rally's with seperates on the doors. 3 way 6x9 Boston's in rear deck. Sounds awesome.
Daniel2145 05-03-2002, 02:48 PM you fit 6x9 in the back panels? HOW
Sr20kidD 05-03-2002, 03:24 PM hey daniel are those autobahn speakers component or coaxil?
Crimson_Phoenix 05-03-2002, 04:45 PM He probably cut the back deck out to fit them in... I did that in my Mx-6 since it had the cheapie factory circles....
I am using Sony 6.25s' full-ranges all the way around I believe... ;)
I think...
Jackson Diamond 05-03-2002, 04:46 PM I have Diamond Audio components in the doors, with the tweeters mounted on the plastic pannel covering the side mirror mounts.
SE-Romeo 05-03-2002, 06:12 PM and these all fit without having to do any mod's to the housings???
Teal97 05-03-2002, 07:19 PM i got some old nakamichi 6 1/2's in the rear deck. the tweeter is removeable, but i left it in place. fit is tight on the torsion rod. they won't fit in the doors w/o a bit of fabrication. model #sp65c. probably don't make them anymore though.

Se-R 420 05-05-2002, 12:31 AM I have JBL 6"1/2's fpr all 4. They went in the back without a problem. altho the front i needed to drill some holes etc. to make them fit but all in all they sound good. i got them From a site that sells stuff cheap http://www.justcarspeakers.com
subhuman 05-05-2002, 12:40 AM Where in texas are you, daniel?
Crono1321 05-05-2002, 10:15 AM I have four Alpine 1729's all around and then some tweeters on the black mirror mounts. Of course the alpine works great, but they are kind of pricey, around $200-$250 for four. I can't remember. The tweeters are in the best spot, since they are black they look stock. I also have 2 Alpine Type-S subs in my trunk which sound phenomenal! Do Alpine components fit our car? Mine is a 96 btw, and I had to do no modifications to make anything fit.

Crono1321 05-05-2002, 10:16 AM oops sorry! I just added a sentence to the post. :)
ser_lover 05-05-2002, 11:26 PM Stock speakers are just totally shit. I busted all 4 of mine. My 6.5 didnt bolt up very good in the back and it I remember right I was thinking 6 3/4 would fit better. My front ones are 6,5 and fit good.
I have clarions in the back and kenwoods in the front. The sound good but arent bass speakers like Fosgats.
madburner 05-06-2002, 02:42 PM I put Infinity reference series all around. 6.5 components in back and seperates upfront. I have the front tweeters mounted right infront of the door handles, looks factory installed ;) (if you want a pic I'll post them). They sound very crisp and clear, oh yeah and are very well built. I've had them for over a year now, pound the sh*t out of them, and they hold. I'm running them off of a pioneer premier 4 x 50 rms amp set at only mid and high frequencies.
SE-Romeo 05-13-2002, 12:37 PM Could youpost a pic of those?? Thanks!

Thanx :D
It was fairly easy to do as well. A little measuring and drilling, but nothing difficult.
