: BB DET or JDM SR20DE with a turbo Toolapcfan 05-03-2002, 01:41 PM A BB SR20DET runs about $1700, and a JDM SR20DE is like $650. If I bought the JDM, with the difference, $1050, could I get a T28 or larger turbo and manifold to bolt onto it? Granted I'd loose the IC piping that a BB DET would come with, but that really doesn't matter since I'd be front mounting the IC and probably be utilizing a DIY setup like Ben so craftily fabbed for his. JDM engines (IIRC) have higher compression ratios than our own DEs, so you have to keep a really close eye on your head temps.
